Role Purpose

The Maître is the guardian of the dining experience, responsible for orchestrating seamless, refined, and memorable service across all restaurant outlets.

This role ensures that every guest interaction embodies the essence of Banyan Tree Veya—elevated yet authentic, attentive yet effortless—while leading the service team with precision, warmth, and excellence.

Position Objective

To oversee, coordinate, and elevate all front-of-house operations, ensuring that service standards, guest engagement, and operational efficiency align with Banyan Tree’s philosophy and luxury positioning.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service flow.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for guests, delivering personalized, anticipatory service.
  • Coordinate reservations, seating arrangements, and table management to optimize capacity and guest experience.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor the service team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards, service protocols, and quality expectations.
  • Handle guest feedback, special requests, and service recovery with professionalism and care.
  • Collaborate closely with the kitchen team to ensure alignment between service and culinary delivery.
  • Monitor service performance and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Support upselling initiatives and revenue optimization through product knowledge and guest engagement.
  • Oversee VIP service, special events, and curated dining experiences.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of menus, wine lists, and local gastronomy to enrich guest interactions.
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and presentation of all dining areas.

Critical Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in luxury hospitality or high-end dining environments.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, guide, and develop teams.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a refined and professional presence.
  • Deep understanding of service etiquette, fine dining standards, and guest experience management.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities in fast-paced environments.
  • Passion for gastronomy, wine culture, and experiential dining.
  • Ability to anticipate guest needs and deliver personalized service.
  • Knowledge of the Valle de Guadalupe market is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish required.
