Position Summary:
The Director of Human Capital Human Capital plays a strategic role in managing the Human Capital functions to ensure the organization attracts, develops, and retains top talent, aligned with business goals. This position involves overseeing the recruitment process, employee development, performance management, and training programs to build a high-performing, skilled, and motivated workforce.
Key Result Area
Human Capital Management:
- Strategic HC Leadership & Business Partnership
- Serve as a key advisor to the executive team on workforce strategy, talent management, and organisational development.
- Align HC initiatives with the company’s financial and operational goals, ensuring a high-performance culture.
- Develop and execute a multi-year Human Capital Roadmap to support business growth and sustainability.
- Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding
- Lead innovative recruitment strategies to attract top hospitality talent.
- Strengthen the hotel’s employer brand through storytelling, employee advocacy, and partnerships with hospitality schools.
- Optimise onboarding to enhance new hire retention and cultural integration.
- Associate Experience & Engagement
- Drive associate engagement initiatives (e.g., recognition programs, well-being strategies, company policies) to foster a thriving workplace.
- Monitor associate morale by conducting regular associate satisfaction and wellbeing surveys, and implement action plans based on the feedback received.
- Promote a culture of inclusivity, innovation, and service excellence.
- Learning & Leadership Development
- Spot the talent and work with L&D to develop future-ready talent through structured training, mentorship, and succession planning.
- Implement personalised career pathways for high-potential associates and department heads.
- Partner with managers to enhance coaching and people leadership skills.
- Performance & Productivity Optimisation
- Reinforce performance management to focus on continuous feedback, agile goal-setting (ISC), and development-driven appraisals.
- Use HC analytics to track turnover, absenteeism, and productivity trends, recommending data-driven solutions.
- Oversee dynamic manpower planning and management to ensure optimal staffing levels that align with operational needs, service standards, and budgetary guidelines.
- Develop, manage, and monitor the annual HC budget to ensure effective allocation of resources and alignment with the hotel’s strategic and financial goals.
- Compliance, Industrial Relations & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with labor laws, safety regulations, and ethical employment practices.
- Oversee crisis management protocols (e.g., labor shortages, workplace conflicts, public health issues).
- Provide guidance to the management and associates on employment conditions and labor law. Serve as a consultant or advisor for handling labor-related cases.
- Compensation, Benefits & Retention Strategies
- Benchmark and optimise compensation structures to remain competitive in the hospitality market.
- Develop targeted retention programs for critical roles and high performers.
- Workplace Culture & Employer Reputation
- Support sustainability initiatives, practices, and community engagement.
- Ensure alignment with the company’s service culture, grooming standards, and guest-centric values.
- Promote team-building activities that strengthen collaboration and morale.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in HR and learning & development, with a preference for experience in the hospitality industry
- Strong knowledge of local employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Proven ability to lead and implement HR and learning policies effectively.
- Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent coaching and counseling abilities, with an approachable and dynamic personality.
- Ability to design and facilitate training programs for both small and large groups.
- Proficient in using HR software, training management tools, and computer applications.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment with a customer- and result-oriented mindset.
- Fosters a positive work environment by building strong relationships with colleagues to enhance team morale and collaboration.
- Stays informed on training, industry trends and provides actionable recommendations to the Learning & Development Manager.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all health and safety protocols, including fire and emergency procedures.
- Upholds impeccable personal presentation, including hygiene, dress code, uniform standards, and professional body language.
- Represents the company with professionalism and courtesy in all interactions to protect and enhance its reputation.
- Attends mandatory meetings and training sessions as directed by the Learning & Development Manager.
