Job Summary

As Assistant Food & Beverage Director at Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur, you will support the F&B Director in overseeing the full spectrum of F&B operations. This includes managing restaurant and bar outlets, banqueting, and in-room dining to ensure seamless service, high guest satisfaction, and alignment with the hotel’s luxury standards. You will play a key role in business planning, budgeting, team development, and maintaining brand consistency and operational excellence across all food and beverage offerings.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Food and Beverage in strategic planning and daily operations across all outlets.
  • Implement and monitor annual business and marketing plans to drive revenue growth.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage outlet managers and F&B team members to achieve departmental goals.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service and product standards in all dining venues.
  • Develop and execute F&B promotions and menu changes in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
  • Manage F&B cost controls, pricing strategies, and inventory oversight to maximize profitability.
  • Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and maintenance standards in compliance with health regulations.
  • Participate actively in guest engagement, feedback collection, and service recovery.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluation processes within the department.
  • Act as Manager-on-Duty and support special events and VIP functions as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8–10 years in Food & Beverage operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in a luxury hotel setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field; professional certifications preferred.
  • Fluent in English with strong communication and interpersonal skills; additional languages an advantage.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams, drive service excellence, and meet financial goals.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills.
  • High energy, stamina, and polished presentation in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in hotel management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, local licensing laws, and safety regulations.
